Saltlands

2022 - in progress

Salt mines and extraction sites—landscapes carved by human need and greed. Once a sacred and precious resource, salt here becomes a metaphor for the environmental cost of progress. Through a post-documentary lens, Saltlands transforms vast caverns, multicoloured pools, and geometric terrains into visions of a post-apocalyptic Earth—alien yet real. Between production, climate change, and the recycling of abandoned mines, the series reveals both the strange beauty of these spaces and the chilling scars they leave behind.
